After Fertilisation the cleaved egg is now called an embryo. The quality of the embryo is evaluated from the numbers of cleavages and the appearance of the interior of the divisions. According to these factors the eggs are scored. A better the score refers to a better egg quality and the better the score is the better is the chance for pregnancy.
In association with embryo transfer (ET) - acupuncture is frequently done. Transfer is done at day 2 or day 3 or at blastocyst stage preferable at day 5.
Acupuncture in association with ET
It has been indicated in several studies, that acupuncture seems to increase the pregnancy chance. One of the first larger studies on this topic is done here at this clinic. We normally recommend our patients to ask for acupuncture along with ET.
